BACKGROUND
Of the newest technologies using computerised technologies is the explosion in CAD- CAM dentistry. Both laboratory based and chair side CAD- CAM systems utilising Ceramic materials are on the increase.
The U.K. is now the third largest user of chairside CAD-CAM when measured as a percentage of all practicing dentists.
The British Society of Computerised Dentistry (BSCD) has been relaunched in 2006 by popular demand. As the users of chairside CEREC® begin to apply the latest technology and novel solutions, the enthusiasm and interest generates a need to access and share information. The BSCD has been formed in response to this need. As a society, it will provide our members a one stop resource to enhance our members’ need for information, training and knowledge.
The BSCD are facilitators. We are both a conduit and a resource centre.
- For our members we will facilitate their need for knowledge and education.
- For the developers we can offer suitable direction.
- For Educators we can provide many training resources
- For the Academia we can assist with research.
We invite all interested to join and support our mutual organisation and to grow by sharing.
